For over four decades, Oaks, Hartline & Daly, LLP, has served as trusted legal counsel to prominent Texas families, providing uncompromising and sophisticated legal representation in complex probate and estate planning matters. The Firm offers white-glove service, providing clients with comprehensive estate planning and probate services. Our attorneys pride themselves on their integrity and commitment to clients, and these values, established by the Firm’s founders, remain the Firm’s defining characteristics today.
Our History
Oaks, Hartline & Daly, LLP, traces its roots to the mid-1980s when Steven Oaks, Ned Hartline and Bill Honey founded Oaks, Hartline & Honey with seven lawyers. Each of the named partners had spent their entire legal career at Butler & Binion, one of Houston’s preeminent law firms and a member of the city’s then “big four.” Oaks, Hartline & Honey served the legal needs of its many private clients and their businesses. Several years later, Daniel W. Daly III, formerly the managing partner of Jenkens & Gilchrist’s Houston office, joined the Firm.
In 1990, the seventeen lawyers that comprised Oaks, Hartline & Honey merged with the oldest and largest law firm in Austin, Texas, eventually becoming Brown McCarroll & Oaks Hartline, LLP.
Noting the increased specialization in the legal field and their desire to continue providing the personal service envisioned by the Firm’s founders, in 2006, attorneys Ned Hartline and Daniel W. Daly III created Oaks, Hartline & Daly, LLP, keeping their esteemed partner, Steve Oaks, as part of the firm name. The Firm focuses exclusively on estate planning, probate, and ancillary matters such as business succession planning and the formation of family LLCs.
Current partners Karen D. Walker and Gina Bono Andrews joined the Firm in 1997, and partner Kelley Harris joined the Firm in 2014 after working for a “big four” accounting firm in the area of international tax.
